Further note:-
A lot of US Army comms from the region are between 30 and 35MHz audible outside the area via ES propagation and obviously audible inside the area. A lot of convoy support and logistics along with relay towers heard. Callsigns such as Relay, Sheriff and so on heard. Convoy routes are given names such as "Tampa", overpasses and checkpoints are given coded location names such as "18A". However, due to the normal useless COMSEC by the US military its very easy to plot where these are on a map. The map system they use is a standard and you can get free maps here - they're nothing more than tactical pilotage charts. Very useful for listeners or what the US laughably terms "insurgents" to know where the checkpoints are...
If members of the public can listen to this its a sure bet your enemies (seemingly anything arab if you listen to bush) can and will.
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE HEARD USE ENCRYPTION.
Its lunacy using clear comms like this.
